My Faith Has Found a Resting Place is a hymn written by Eliza Edmunds Hewitt who is also known for writing well known hymns such as: When We All Get To Heaven and Sunshine In My Soul. Hewitt grew up in Philadelphia and became a school teacher for a number of years and also served on the staff at Northern Home for Friendless Children. Her life however, took a turn whenever she was trying to correct an incorrigible student one day and he struck her in the back with a heavy object giving her a serious injury and placing her in a heavy cast for six months. Though life for her had become limited she never lost her faith or sight of the bigger picture because she knew she had a resting place in Christ. Whether it is financial struggle, marriage problems or unforeseen health issues, life can sometimes seem to get the best of us no matter how strong our faith may be. As Christians we tend to think we will always be protected from the struggles of life because we go to church, read our Bible
